My doctor said it was a great sign. It means that the medicine is working. I would let th Dr. know how severe the rash is. Also, sugar is not good for cancer. My doctor said you don't have to cut it out entirely but watch it.
i, too am taking tarceva for stage 4 lung cancer and have the rash. so i hope this is a good sing because my rash is in full bloom........i go see my doctor next week. how long were you on it before they checked to see if tarveva was really working for you. i have been on it for almost a month now........................good luck
I saw the oncologist after the first full week of the rash since it tends to get infected easily. He told me that he knew it was working at that point since my rash was so severe. I started out at 150 mg but had to drop down for a while. I'm now back on 150 and the one tumor is no longer active and the main tumor has shrunk by about 30-35%. The side effects are no fun, but it's a small price to pay for quality of life that I have. Hang in there and don't give up. I'm hoping that it continues to work for a long time and when it stops working hope that by that time there will be something else to take it's place. God Bless. Nancy
