I have Renal cell carcinoma (advanced kidney cancer). The two sites being right hip bone and left adrenal gland. My left kidney was removed in January 2006, but unfortunately in May 2007 these two matestases had appeared. I had radiation on the hip site followed by monthly Zometta infusions. Then in March 2007 started a course of Nexavar 800 per day.
In June a CT scan showed a definite shrinking of the tumour on the adrenal gland, which was very good news.
However since March I have lost over 50lbs, and other side effects have been loss of appetite, sore fingers and feet, skin rash and flushing, significant hair loss. More recently I was really poorly with digestive upsets, nausea, and diarrhea, so my oncolist has directed me to stop the nexavar for 2 weeks at least.
Has anyone experienced similar problems?
