Hi. Congratulations on your father's recovery. The cancer going from one point of the body to another one is called Metastases or Metastasis. If it does, the word "metastasic" or "metastatic" will be added to the original cancer' name, for example: "metastasic prostate cancer". 5 years ago my mother was having lower back pain and one doctor ordered an MRI. He said he saw the problem in one of the films and he wanted to operate on her. The next day I went to walgreens and bought a couple of $1.50 capsium patches, put them on her lower back and the pain was gone, it never came back. Also I remember I was in my early twenties and got a chest X ray for military purposes. The doctor put it in the light, said there was something in my lower left lung that should keep him from certifying me but said he would make an exemption if I promised him I would follow up on it. I did. A couple years later I got more X rays and my lungs were clear. I'm 40 years old now and my lungs are just fine. Conclussion: don't worry unless you are sure and certain that something bad has happened. Your father can get an AMAS test which will tell if there is cancer still in his body. This test detects antibodies that the body's immune system produces when encounters cancer cells. If after treatment the cancer is gone the results should be negative. If the body is still producing antibodies, the intruders are still in because antibodies are its first line of defense against the invaders. You can get the kit, which is covered by Medicare, from Oncolabs:
