Hi Sheryl,
Like Karen, we have noticed Ryle's stomach area
seems bloated. Also, before we found out he had
cancer, our vet thought he had chushing's disease, but
he tested negative. I remember she said that there
was some irregularity in his urine workup, but I can't
remember exactly what. Lately he will not eat his food
with Graviola added. So, we have backed off for a
couple of days to give him a rest. We did notice that
his appetite was down when we were giving him
Piroxicam every day. We changed his dosage to
everyother day, and that is much better for him. Karen
is right, it's different for each dog. We just take it day by
day and see how Ryle reacts. Yes, we do cry a lot, but
we try not to let him know we are sad. We're not sure
how many days we have with him, so each one is very
special. Sounds silly, but we center our activities and
days around Ryle now. He's given us so very much,
we just want to make him as comfortable as possible. I
believe, in his own way and time, he will let us know
when he is tired of the fight , and then we will have to
make a decision. But until then, we are loving him and
treating him like nothing has changed. Know that you
are not alone in this terrible situation. We all share the
pain. Let us know how you and Molly are doing. God
Bless.
Shele and Ryle B.
