Today was the first time I found this message board. I'm so sorry to hear of so many going thru this with the beloved companions. My heart goes out to all.
My sheltie Maya, was confirmed with a large bladder tumor in April. Also only one kidney was still functioning. She's been on Piroxicam, misoprotol and Pepcid since then. Antibiotics don't work for long and she never urinates enough at one time to get a clean sample to test.
It's difficult for me to watch her strain and strain to bring out just a few drops each time.
Two vets hear have told me there really isn't anything else I can give her.
I've gotten a cpl of suggestions from these messages.
But what's really scaring me today is that the blood in her urine is quite concentrated, bright red, and she's also passing small clots. Otherwise she's acting like her usual sweet self: has her appetite, her eyes are bright. Has anyone had this happen? Are we close to the end?
