Hi Brian,
We have had Ryle on Marshmallow (480mg x2 day) and Slippery
Elm since July. It helps protect his stomach from the harsh
effects of Piroxicam. Our Holistic vet recommended these
instead of Cyotex, which has side effects. We buy these from
our local vitamin store. We have been having good luck with
with vitamins and diet change (and Piroxicam every other day).
Ryle has never been able to tolerate high temperatures, but
since having been diagnosed with TCC, he is even less tolerant.
I'm not sure if that is from the disease or from Piroxicam.
Peaboy is such a trooper and I am convinced he knows how
much you and your wife adore him. Keep spoiling him and
treasure every moment. He sounds like an absolutely wonderful
little guy. Yes, it is hard to watch our babies go through this
terrible disease. I don't believe they know they are sick, so we
try not to be sad around our Ryle. Every day is different and we
hold every day as a gift. You are in our prayers. Hang in there.
Shele and Ryle B.
