My mother has been released from her oncologist to Hospice. She is still alert, able to get up to the bathroom (with our help), eat food & drink fluids, take medications......she is not in a lot of pain, so doesn't have to be drugged up.....she just sleeps alot. She is not throwing up. She is just getting weaker. She has liver cancer which is not operable & the nexavar she was on allowed a bone metastesis to her leg, so they took her off it. My sister & I have been approached by our stepdad (he is really our acting father) regarding arranging my mom's funeral! I am nowhere near that point in the loss of my mother. No one has given us a timeframe.........but my when my grandmother passed away from liver cancer, she spent about a month in a coma like state.....so I figured that's where we would be before talking about a funeral. Does anyone have any suggestions for me.......has anyone lost a loved one to liver cancer at home w/Hospice that might know their state of mind when they passed. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated. I don't really know where else to go & thought I'd try all of you.....
