Thanks for your comments. My husband had a very bad cold two months before being diagnosed. The doctor treated him with antibiotics, probably thinking it was a bacterical infection. My hunch is that this cold was a virus and the antibiotics made things worse,plus the fact that he didn't finish the medication because it made his stomach upset.
