hello everyone,

My name is Letizia , I am 33 years old and I live in Milan (Italy)

In July 2006 my Oncologist diagnosed me a pancreatic endocrine cancer at the head with a secondary to liver (metastatic), lymph node and pelvis bone left with a carcinoid syndrome.

On the 23rd of August I’m starting the chemotherapy with Cisplatin, 5fluorouracile and folinic acid (regime De Gramont).

I have got six cycles of chemotherapy (too strong for me) and now I feel a little bit better. At the moment the cure has been stopped and medics are looking for a new “experiment” medicine.

On the 11 of September I'm starting a new therapy with RAD001.

I'd like to know somebody who already take on it and which are the effect side.

thanks

lety

Dear Lety,

RAD001 so far didn't show any efficacy in pancreatic cancer. In one study in the US about 30 patients were enrolled and all came off the study after 2 cycles due to the desease progression. You should suggest your doctor to look for another clinical trial for you and not waste your time on this one.

All the best to you
