My mother had surgery today and I was told that the cancer is too advanced to do anything. The surgeon previously told me there was a possibility of removing the areas affected, bypassing or placing a stent for bile drainage to her intestine, etc... He wasn't sure until he was physically in to see what was going on. Long story short, there are several areas in the right lobe affected, the entire left lobe is basically gone, and there is a large mass around one of the bile ducts. The doctor told me that she has 6-12mths.
