Angel of Hope. Write to Dr. Ian A. Cree for more information about ovarian cancer, Avastin, assays, etc. He does the ATP assay in the UK, although he may not be able to do the microvascular assay. I'm sure he could contact the inventor of it and come to some understand how he could perform it. Cree and a number of private labs in the US all perform what is known as "cell-death" assays.

Sleepy123. A growing tumor requires oxygen to help it grow. The tumor builds new blood vessels to obtain this oxygen. Avastin can (but not for all patients) kill the microvascular structure that builds new blood vessels. In the United States, the AngioRxâ„¢ Microvascular Viability / Angiogenesis Assay can discriminate between the activity of different targeted drugs (like Avastin) and identify situations in which it is advantageous to combine the targeted drugs with other types of cancer drugs.
