My sister has had breast cancer 3 times and brain cancer. She lives in a remote part of Oregon. To go to chemo and/or radiation, she has to travel 2 hours. Her Doctor gave her some more bad news last week after her CAT and a PET scan, so now he said he can put her on the "chemo pill". She got her prescription from her Doctor today. She has medicare and the Oregon Health Plan. When she went to fill her prescription, one pharmacy said it would cost her, $3000.00, she doesn't have that kind of money. Her friend took her prescription to another pharmacy, they said after medicare pays, my sister's balance would be $200.00, she doesn't have that either. Is there any help out there, or does she have to make the long trips back over the hill to chemo, which she won't be able to do, she no longer has the strength to carry on.
I am 3 hours from her, please if anyone knows of something please help me.
Thank you,
