I am now getting more information re paraprotein found in in my blood.
I was referred to haemo clinic 18 months ago after being diagnosed as having severe osteopenia (mild osteoporosis). Tests then revealed a paraprotein IG M.
I was referred to haemo clinic. I was told the the ammount of paraprotein was' unquantifiable' but nevertheless there. I was given bone marrow biopsies which came back ok. 6 months later I was discharged with no ongoing tests by them or my doctor required. They said it was MGUS but with such a level of paraprotein no follow up was required.
I asked my doctor to give me blood tests which he agreed. 6 months after discharge it moved up to 5.4 g/l and six moths later 7.7g/l. I have just been referred again to haemo clinic and today had another bone marrow biopsy and await Xray survey and results.
Haemo specialists main concern was that it went from just over 0, to 5.4 then 7.7 in such a short space of time.
It is in IGM paraprotein which is not normally associated with myeloma, what does anyone think is happening from their experiencies?
