Low Platelets

Subject: Low platelets
Date: 11/16/2007
My latest blood test show that I have a low platelet count so my Dr. is giving me a two week break from the Sutent. I am 70 years old.  Does the platelet count improve during the rest period.   I dont want to go off the Sutent as I am getting a goood reduction in tumor size. He said he would reduce the Sutent to 37.5 from 50 will that help.
