Hi - so sorry for your sister's diagnosis. It is a horrible, aggressive cancer so you need to be very proactive. My mom was diagnosed in May with virtually no symptoms after a routine Gallbladder surgery. Just remember that everyone is different and it is considered a rare cancer, they do not know much about treatments, time etc. I found that you can not take anything at face value. Had I listened to the doctors she would not have survived more than 3 months. We went from hospital to hospital, doctor to doctor until we found the right fit for us. She too has been treated with Gemzar and although the tumors did not shrink, it kept the cancer at bay for almost 8 months. The Gemzar was tough on her though, (I highly recommend the anti nausea med called EMEND) and we have now had to stop it and rely on hospice care. I still have hope...
Also, if she is willing to try it, I heard Flor-Essence tea can help boost the immune system.
