Hi, my name is Randi. My husband was diagnosed with metastatic colon cancer in 4/07. He has a colon resection and a liver resection to remove the very large tumor in his liver. We thought we were lucky that he had only one tumor that was resectable. Four months after chemo ended, he had a recurrence, another liver tumor. That was resected. He just completed his second course of chemotherapy.
We are scheduled to have a PET scan in two weeks. Our difficulty is that my husband is convinced that he has another tumor, and that he will die because he has exceeded the "life expectancy" of Stage IV colon cancer. We are not sleeping, we cry alot and we are very scared.
My question is this. Has anyone "out there" lived with a similiar disease as my husband for longer than 18 months? Can I please hear from longer survivors? Can any spouses give me some words?
Thank you so much and my best wishes to all of you.
