My husband was diagnosed with RCC April 2005 when a large tumour (13cm) in his R kidney was found by accident. He was never ill or showed any symptoms right up to the time of the operation (we called him a fraud as he looked so good). We had every confidence in his surgeons (3 because of the extent of the tumour) and because he was so healthy never doubted he would recover. He was back at work 8 wks after the operation. My suggestion is make sure you have confidence in your doctor and surgeon, ask questions even if they seem silly and stay positive as this helps the body and spirits to see you through.
