My dad has RCC that has spread to his lungs.  He is on his first round of Sutent.  He is a very quiet person and I don't know what he's thinking or what to say/do.  He is an amazing grandpa, but he's distancing himself from the grandkids.  That was always what I used to cheer him up.  I am trying to stay positive myself that the Sutent will work, but every trip to the oncologist just always brings more bad news.  Other than hugging him and spending time with him, what can I do?  He has never been one to express feelings and all he seems to want to do is watch tv all day now.  I would love some suggestions from someone with some experience at this.
