Hi Heather (familyfaith) Your frustration and fear are very obvious in your message and I can totally relate to what you are feeling. Five years before my own diagnosis I had a sister die from the effects of chemotherapy and it was a horrendous experience for her and the family. There were natural substances that could have helped her system tolerate the chemo side effects and some that would have even boosted the efficacy of the treatments but because of the "ignorance" (I mean that in the true sense of the word) of her doctors they refused to allow her to take anything natural. They really do need to open their minds and do some research on some of these natural substances which are proven to be helpful. Otherwise they will have to face the fact that patient's lives are being ended horribly and prematurely when other options could have resulted in better results. I would recommend you take a look at this one substance which has been tested and proven to be very effective as a supportive treatment.
