My mom was just diagnosed with stomach cancer with linitis plastica. Unlike all the other posting my mom did not have her stomach removed nor was Chemotherapy an option. She is a very young 70yo. They inserted a J-tube and things are very rough right now. I too read all the terrible things on the internet but almost every word was confirmed by her doctors. I am sure that her age might have more to do with it also.
Right now she is having a tough time with vomiting bile as she takes nothing by mouth. The doctors can not seem to get that in contol. She is being discharged to the Hospice House at 3pm to stay "until she is stable to go home". I am not feeling real good about the odds of this.
I haven't read another message where they didn't do surgery at all, or want to start them on Chemotherapy, everyone has a different story.
I will put your aunt in my prayers.
