Has anyone here dealt with chondrosarcoma.
My sister in law was diagnosed yesterday. There is not much information on the internet and little or no info on nutrition or alternative or complimentary therapies. She was so shocked at the word cancer, she is not quite sure all that her doctor told her. She did understand that she will have a short round of chemo and then surgery and that it looks contained to one area of her shoulder.
Any information will be greatly appreciated.
I joined this board back in mid 2007 when my husband was diagnosed with stage IV colorectal cancer and everyone has helped so very much. Just as he is entering remission, his sister is hit with this news. Please help if you can. We are just starting to research this particular cancer and there just doesn't seem to be as much information as other cancers.
Please pray for my sister in law (Tammy).
Thank you

Melinda,
My husband, 61, was diagnosed with chondrosarcoma on his upper right arm in September 2007. He has been treated at University Hospita, Indianapolis, In. His surgeon was Dr Daniel Wurtz, orthopaedic/oncology. He was great. He saved Dennis' arm and inserted a metal prosthesis. He saved his use of his hand and fingers even though he probably will never have use of his right shoulder. His cancer metastesized to his lungs and he has been undergoing chemo therapy. So far, nothing has really worked like they want but he is strong and his oncologist, Dr Daniel Rushing, University Hosp, is not giving up. He has been on Adryomyacin & Platinol, Gemcitibide, Taxatere and Adryomyacin, and Platinol with Rapamune (anti-rejection med) but none of these have given the results they are hoping for.
If you have any other info, please let me know. We are trusting God but searching the medical field too.
