Hi,
I'd ask your OBGYN if they can do cryotherapy on the atypical cells, rather than just waiting. I had an abnormal pap 10 yrs ago- I believe they called them atypical. They did the cryo and I've had normal paps ever since then. Cryo is where they freeze the cells- they just do this vaginally- it wasn't too bad, just some cramping and minor bleeding for a day. Mine had nothing to do with my cancer, since my rectal cancer diagnosis was just this past year (but am doing very well). I was actually due to get my annual pap exam last month, but haven't gone in yet with all the other "stuff" going on with my health. I'm curious now if any of my cancer or chemo I've gone through will affect the pap results. I think I'll go ahead and set up an appt. to get that done- thanks for the reminder!
Best wishes to you-
Lisa
