I have been taking Avastin along with Chemo drugs (Xeloda & Gemzar) for the past 8 months. So far it has kept me stable, and there have been no side effects form the Avastin. I had a nephrectomy in Oct, 2005. I have tried Nexavar for 4 months (didn't work), then I tried Sutent for 18 months. It was successful until last July when I started to develop Pleural Effusions (fluid in the lining of my left lung). After Thorasic surgery, the problem stayed at bay till very recently. I expect we will be looking at a new treatment plan shortly. I think the Avastin kept the lymphnodes from growing as long as I have been taking it.
