My husband lost his voice 2 1/2 years ago and was diagnosed with accute laryngitus. on 4 occasions. Eventually he was diagnosed with stage 3 squamouse cell cancer of the larynx in April. He had chemo and Intense radiotherapy with Cetoximab which resulted in him loosing about 60lbs and sever radiation burns and ending up in hospital. He was not fitted with a peg prior to treatment and so had a nasal gastro tube fitted. Eventually in October he was given the all clear, but there was concern about his wait loss - they thought he might have a chest infection so ordered an
X-ray. It turned out that he had secondary lung cancer. He has had 4 additional sessions of chemo to hopefully bring him into remission which has unfortunately resulted in him having what is called in the uk 'recall' - bringing back the effects of the radiotherapy as well as the effects of the chmo. i.e. He cannot eat drink or swallow - to the effect tha he is totally nill by mouth. Unfortunatgely the cancer has not completely gone from his lungs but has has beden considerably reduced. are there any treatments that will help to stop the cancer from re-growning. Treatments are very limited in the UK . so if you know of any drugs that will help I would be very grateful for information
