My husband was recently diagonsed with pancreatic cancer. We spent several months going thru a battery of test. He has uncontrolled diabetes and all attempts at an ERCP have been unscuccessful due to hardening of the pancreas. His Ca19-9 levels have elevated to 1600. he has lost appx. 40 lbs and a surgical biospy has been deemed impossible due to his deteroated condition and his uncontrollable diabeties. His Dr. finally said in Feb. that it had to be pancreatic cancer there was no other explanation. He stated that it was end stage cancer and suggested Hospicis.
My husband has good days and bad days. He sleeps alot and sometimes he seems very disorented. Other days he is more normal and this seems like a bad dream. Is this the norm for pancreatic cancer?
He is on digestive enzymes and fyentol patches and Viocidine for break thru pain. He has to be hospitalized routinely for IV's he gets to weak to walk unassisted. He experiences bouts of itching and severe night sweats.
