My ca125 was at 3,500 after my first chemo (taxol and carboplatin) after 8 treatments in 3 week intervals ca125 was at 105, My oncologist started me on Doxil and after first treatment ca125 was up to 168. A ca125 of 21 is normal and the body is supposed to be able to deal with anything up to ca125 of 30 to 40. Doxil isn't doing much for me except make me miserable for 3 weeks. I won't find out what the second Doxil treatment did for me until after I take the third treatment. I would rather find out before the 3rd treatment and then not take it if the ca125 went up again after the second. If anyone has any recommendation as to what the next course of chemo could be, I would appreciate an email to this board. I am a very active 67 year old and play tennis whenever I can (sometimes 5 times a week) so I can take whatever is available. I just hate the burning in my hands and feet with this Doxil and blistering in several places on my body and inside my mouth. The taxol and carboplatin gave me neuropathy and that is why I was changed to Doxil but I don't tolerate it as well as the other. Hope to hear from someone. Anita
