Hello all! I'm a 42 year old female diagnosed with stage 2 ampullary cancer on March 5th of this year and had the Whipple procedure performed by a fantastic surgeon at University Hospital in Cleveland. I was in the hospital for 8 days, and actually came home without any tubes whatsoever and on a liquid/soft food diet. It's five weeks today since my surgery and while I'm still experiencing alot of pain and nausea, I think I'm recovering quite well overall. I'm meeting with my oncologist tomorrow to see what course of treatment we'll be pursuing. The cancer was present in a few of my lymph nodes and that really scares me. I just found out about this website and it's very comforting to know that I'm not alone in this. Take care and appreciate life. Kim
