I am on day 12 of using carac on the face, so I can't personally answer, but from what I've read, 2 months (sometimes longer) is not unusual to remain pink.
I am not seeming to have a very strong reaction by day 12. Just a little flakiness here and there, rosy cheeks, minimal splotchiness. I was totally prepared to be hybernating by now, but I can still go out. Do you remember how you were around day 12? My dr's appointment is on day 21, and she will tell me then if I can stop treatment.
