Hi
I was diagnosed w/ tonsil cancer last June. I lost 25 lbs in a short period as a result of chemo and radiation. They inserted a PEG tube which allowed me to "eat" through the tube. Jevity, which is similar to Ensure, was prescribed as it has everything nutritional needed to battle the cancer. It is important for your husband to maintain his weight to give him the needed strength for his battle ahead. I am a year post diagnosis and cancer, chemo, and radiation are becoming a distant memory so there is light at the end of the tunnel. I am now eating two meals a day with one of Jevity and will probably get my PEG tube out at the end of July. My taste buds are back even though certain things - like salt, ketchup, peppers, and spicy foods - are even more pronounced now. If I can be of any help - please email me.
Been there - Diana
