They are lifting off the nail bed and where they have lifted the nail is white, looks like fungus but its not. What can i do? I will be returning to work and i use my hands with the public. When i called my doctors office they say its from the chemo (taxotere) and its a normal reaction. This is very embrassing and i was wondering what i can do to make them better.Grannydiva |

There's probably not much you can do, unfortunately. I had the same or similar problem with my toenails during my first round of chemo. The nail actually got mushy and was lifting off at the cutical. It eventually took care of itself, and I don't remember that it took all that long. Between two rounds of chemo and the side effects of Tarceva, I've experienced more than one embarrassing side effect. But I pretty much laugh it off and tell people it's either this or six feet under. Right now I'm opting for this. Good luck.
