I was diagnosed with early stages of Pancreatic Cancer in June 2007. I was operated on in July 2007 with a Whipple operation by a fine physician in Baltimore at St Joseph's Hospital. I underwent 28 days of Radiation and 11 weeks of Chemotherapy treatments. So far, all my tests have indicated the cancer has not spread. My advice to others: if you have any change in your health patterns, go to a doctor immediately. Listen carefully to his/her instructions and select a surgeon who has experience in this field. Not all tumors can be operated on right away, but the sooner you catch the problem, the better the results will be. Don't be discouraged, keep a positive attitude and seek help from others.
Good for you and congratulations........... Happy to hear you are doing well.
I had the Whipple done Aug 2006 and had the radiation and am still doing the chemo (IV and oral)......... Tumor markers have been pretty level, had 1 spike a month ago, but back to normal.
Still have lots of bowel movements (loose) and gas, even with the enzymes. Guess its the nature of the beast.....
Anyway - good luck and god bless......
