My dad was diagnosed with stomach cancer on Nov 07, 95% of his stomach was removed. Cancer also went to the lymph nodes and he went through chemo for only 2 weeks because he couln't take it, he got like blisters in his mouth.. He had 28 radiations! lost alot of weight but now that he is gainning that weight back and feeling better, he was diagnosed with terminal liver cancer. Dr said that surgery or any other treatment is not an option. He said 4-6 months maybe a yr tops. This is a nightmare and I am looking for any other alternatives. Is any body familiar with anything? Desperate daughter!
Bebita, I'm also a desperate daughter. My dad was diagnosed in Nov with liver cancer and also lymphomia in several areas of his chest-down region. He was given a mild chemo to start with due to his weak heart, and when that didn't show any response, they started a stronger type of chemo (took 1 day interveniously, + 5 days of a pill form). They just told us today after approx 6 weeks of this treatment that it wasn't working either. His options are to do a liver biopsy (didn't do one before because of his bad health, didn't think he could handle it) to try and determine exactly what type of liver cancer he has. The liver cancer is getting worse, but the lymphomia in his lymphnodes looks unchanged from his last scan. His other option is to do nothing and set up Hospice. I don't know, but most everything I've read says that liver cancer is/can be the worst and no real treatment. My dad isn't in any pain yet, and seems to feel pretty good but his color is not good. I know the doctor probably wont indicate how much longer he thinks he might have with us. We are planning a family trip to Branson in mid June and my dad has been so excited to go, but it looks like he might not have that long or might not be up to the trip. I'm just thinkful he isn't in any pain now and hope it stays that way!
