Because over here we have a system called the 'postcode lottery' it means all depends on where you live whether you get treatment on the NHS for cancer.

My boyfriend died of pancreatic cancer 5 years ago - given no treatment

My father died July 07 with Stage IV Lung Cancer,  He was told he was too well for trails for Tarceva (as not on the NHS in England and Wales) and reserved treatment for Radiotherapy - when he got worse and asked for treatment he was refused,

With our NHS system you automatically get money taken out of your wages to cover this - my father paid into this system all his life and so did my boyfriend.

Due to this my family have a claim against the PCT (Primary Care Trust) who are responsible for their failure of Duty of Care for my father - they have apologised!

But it isnt about the money and their apologies are not good enough, we are going to make sure they dont forget what they did or didnt do for my father - the only justice we can get is to try and change this system in my father's memory.

I miss both of them so much and get told to move on but I cant until justice is done - they cant be brought back and nothing can change for them but if some good can be done for others not to have to go through this disgusting system we have over here then thats what we can hope for.

Our NHS system is meant to be the best - yes it is when money doesnt dictate treatment.

Good Luck to all of those out there who are going through the system or through sad or hard times living with cancer and their families.

There are treatments out there - some work, some dont, but all worth trying for, dont give up - fight for them.
