Becasue of the nature of MM you can be on disability unless your doctor writes a note saying you no longer need it. So even if it becomes more stable you are still considered a high risk. mms.

Not sure if this is in the correct place but here goes. I have multiple myeloma and collecting SSD and group disability insurance. I need to know if my myeloma becomes stable (as it has before but returned) will the insurance company stop my payments? Has anyone collected disability ins and their cancer gone into remission?
I had a stem cell transplant for mm in Aug. 07. Started receiving SSD and disability insurance pyts. in Sept. 07. I returned to my Dr. for 100 day blood work, etc. & had an M-spike in blood & some "fuzzy" bands in my urine. Went back one month later & told I'm in unvarified remission or very good partial remission. Three weeks later (today that is) I received a letter cutting off my disability insurance pyts.So there's 2 of us that this has happened to.
Sorry to hear about the insurance cut off. There’s not much I can do about my situation, hopefully you can do something about yours.
