Hello,
I'm 35 years old and I was first dianosed in Jan 2005 and had surgery Feb 2005 to remove a JGCT tumor the size of a football. Had no chemo after, but had to have bloodwork (Inhibin test) every 6 months. In May 2008 my bloodwork came back elevated had to wait 1 month then I had a ca-125 and inhibin A, bloodwork still elevated. My doctor schedule CT scan by this time it is June and I had worried myself sick. Got the result back on a Monday, seen my doctor on Wed, had surgery on Thursday July 3 where they removed tumors in my pevis & chest walls, & in the lining around my intestestines and on my pancreas. Had to have specialist come in for the pancreas. Doctors said they got everything they could see and touch but felt like I could still have some cancer cells. Now i'm having chemo every month Carboplatin/Taxol (hate it) but feel the doctors know best, but I hated losing my hair. What I don't understand is I have been told it is slow growing but I have bloodwork every 6 months and when I had it in Dec everything was fine and then In May my canser was back. I don't call that slow. I have been taking estrogen pills since my 1st surgery and wonder if that's a NO NO. The day after my 1st surgery the doctor said he did not think is was cancer and everything looked good but after sending the tumor to Harvard we found out different. I'm wondering if the chemo is going to keep the tumors from coming back. The hardest part is the wait and wondering if it's going to come back.
