Hello,

I'm 35 years old and I was first dianosed in Jan 2005 and had surgery Feb 2005 to remove a JGCT tumor the size of a football. Had no chemo after, but had to have bloodwork (Inhibin test) every 6 months. In May 2008 my bloodwork came back elevated had to wait 1 month then I had a ca-125 and inhibin A, bloodwork still elevated. My doctor schedule CT scan by this time it is June and I had worried myself sick. Got the result back on a Monday, seen my doctor on Wed, had surgery on Thursday July 3 where they removed tumors in my pevis & chest walls, & in the lining around my intestestines and on my pancreas. Had to have specialist come in for the pancreas. Doctors said they got everything they could see and touch but felt like I could still have some cancer cells. Now i'm having chemo  every month Carboplatin/Taxol (hate it) but feel the doctors know best, but I hated losing my hair. What I don't understand is I have been told it is slow growing but I have bloodwork every 6 months and when I had it in Dec everything was fine and then In May my canser was back. I don't call that slow.  I have been taking estrogen pills since my 1st surgery and wonder if that's a NO NO. The day after my 1st surgery the doctor said he did not think is was cancer and everything looked good but after sending the tumor to Harvard we found out different. I'm wondering if the chemo is going to keep the tumors from coming back. The hardest part is the wait and wondering if it's going to come back.

I am sorry for your reoccurance.  It is the strangest thing.  As I indicated, my oncologist indicated Inhibin B was elevated based on blood work from July.  He asked if I wanted the test repeated.  I said, "Of course!!"  They called me last week, negative results on repeat test.  I am to return in 3 months for CT scan and blood work. I do have breast biopsy scheduled for lump, which I found in July. It seems that we have to be ever vigilant and watchful.  God bless you and I pray for strength for all of us.
