Everyone is different carboplatin and Taxol did nothing for me. I was diagnosed in 1998 at the age of 31 with one small tumor in the ovary which they removed I have had 4 surgeries since then. After the Taxol they tried Lupron which held the tumors off for several month until if finally broke through. They have removed several dozen tumors in the past three debulkings. I have yet to be in remission. The only upside it that for several months I have been able to live my life as though I am not sick until the tumors get to big, then I go under the knife. Sad part is how many surgeries can one's body sustain. This last was the worst and my kidneys did shut down. Sorry for being all bad news, but most of the information I read said it would be years before a reoccurrence because they are slow growing not every six months. So I wanted you to hear the truth that it is not the same for all.
