Well, it's always good to be up front about these things so that there are no surprises.
This is actually my third surgery since 2002, but this time went much more smoothly than last. I don't hold any false hopes and even though the doctor has done his best to remove all of the miniscule granulosas that he could see, I would be more surprised if it didn't come back than if it did.
Fortunately, I was advised by the doctor that chemo would not be needed this time. He felt the surgery went well. I've been doing a lot of reading and adding nutritional supplements to my previously chaotic diet and trying to change my eating habits to boost my metabolism. At this point, I certainly can't hurt myself by eating right!!
I remain upbeat and refuse to let it get me down, but with each recurrence I find this more difficult.
I was wondering .... during your first surgery did the tumour rupture? Mine did and I suspect that the seeds were deposited at that time which resulted in the recurrences. Can't cry over spilled seed though. What's past is past .....
I wish you the best and I'd love to keep in touch with you if you're interested. There are so few of us on these sites that it's nice when another one appears!
Take care,
Brenda
