I had robotic surgery in June '06. I was 73 and overweight, and generally out of condition due to knee problems (my excuse). Pre operatively I was told to do pelvic floor exercises, I felt my abdominal muscels could be toned up, so I did sit ups for a number of weeks twice daily. Post operatively I continued with the pelvic floor exercises. I was incontinent for eight days after the catheter was removed, by which time I would gladly have had it back. However, I decided to ''toilet train myself''. The first day I made it four times, the second six, by which time I was continent, but continued the exercises, quality is better than quantity - I now have no problems.
Keep at the exercises, and try "toilet training", decide you are going to go, and try stopping in mid flow occasionally. You will get there.
Good luck,
