Subject: Baking Soda therapy

I saw a report about a doctor in Italy that was having great success on cancer patients with IV treatments of baking soda?!?  Apparently there are a couple of doctors who were trained in Italy who are now doing this in the US.  Does anyone know anything about this or is this yet another snake oil treatment??
