Hello Everyone,
I haven't posted in awhile, but my husband has been doing pretty well on the CPT11/Avastin regimen. Now his doctors are adding Temodar back to his schedule, as well. He's taken these chemos separately and has done well with them, but we're not sure what to expect with them being given together. This could definitely be the one, two punch with a kick in the gut. Has anyone had this same type schedule? If so, how did it go?

Hi, I was just wondering how this treatment is going? My father started treatment 2 weeks ago of daily temodar while undergoing IMRT. Last week he started a once a week dose of CPT-11 as well. We were hopeful, as our dr has a pretty good track record with this plan, but my dad has developed some pretty serious side effects from the temodar. Constipation, nausea, vomiting. He has lost 11 pounds and cannot each much of anything, so they are taking him off of both chemos for a week to see how he responds.
He was diagnosed with GBM 4/29/08, had at 90% resection. Was recovering well until he developed a severe allergic reaction to dilantin while being weaned off and on to keppra. He also developed blood clots that settled in his lungs. He is now on zonegran for anti-seizure.
this disease is so sad. He never had any health problems until this happened. We were so hopeful starting out to control this, but it seems as though he has had one reaction after another. It is terribly frustrating.
