Hi - So sorry about your Dad. We have been battling EC since 12/05. I understand your discouragement with your Dad's condition. It sounds pretty bad. I also understand the frustration with the medical world, although we have been fortunate to have a Dr who treated in spite of stage 4 status, he responded to the chemo and radiation, and made it through surgery. We are currently on our 4th round of lung mets, but have been able to avoid treatment to date for this most recent round, and I'm hoping next weeks CT will show improvement over the April CT, which would make me more comfortable with our current decision not to treat yet.

We practice a form of energy healing called Tong Ren. Although many cancers are cured, and a study is about to be released by Harvard Medical School and Dana Farber, not everyone is cured (guess that goes without saying). I've seen a lot of seemingly impossible things happen in our tong ren group. My experience has been that even though we are not able to cure everyone, many are cured, and I don't know anyone who has not experienced an improved quality of life through using tong ren. You can find info at www.tomtam.com. As well as holding classes in various areas where we work on attendees on a donation basis, there is a conference call line for treatment, and a specific call for stage 4 cancers which meets 4 times a week. It is available for the cost of a long distance call. If you are interested, the website has a link to conference call schedule, although the stage 4 specific call may not be on the list. You can contact me if you are interested in that particular call. The chemo was hell, but we did much better when we were using tongren than we did during a round before we discovered it. All tong ren involves on the part of the patient is sitting (or laying down) to receive the energy.

Good luck with your Dad. If you have trouble convincing him, you could try it. There is an emotional group on Monday mornings which is very relaxing, and lets face it, with EC we can all use some emotional help. The evening groups do various health complaints which would give you a chance to experience it and share your experience with your Dad. I know it looks crazy, but it works, and you don't have a thing to lose.
