My dad's 68th birthday is next week, and I'm confounded by what you give a guy who...well, isn't going to need possessions a whole lot longer, to put it bluntly. "Stuff" just doesn't seem very important anymore, to him or to me.
But I thought, maybe people here would be willing to post birthday wishes and encouragement for him as he faces these final months with GBM. So if anybody has kind wishes or blessings to share, would you please post them here? I will compile them to include in his birthday card. I think he'd appreciate hearing from other people who really understand what he's going through at this difficult time.
Thank you for any kind words you have to spare.
HI!!!
I just did the same sort of thing for my son who just turned 25. In fact, at the end of this, I'm going to post a story I read somewhere on line. A caution. I refused to cry over this whole thing because I felt like I wouldn't be able to stop. The story brought me to my knees in tears. You'll note the part about asking people to write. Having just done that myself, I lost it.
So, here's the part for you to cut and paste (if possible).
HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!
You are one of our HEROs!!! Strength, Determination, Will . . . YOU have it!!! Please know that sincere praise on your birthday is sent and {{{{hugs}}} are sent here! You stay strong! Love each other and blow those candles out with everyone you love!!!
Sincere best wishes and recognizing His love from above!!!
