My mother had the whipple procedure 12/07 for a cancerous growth in her duodenum.  She seems to be doing okay but she is also complaining of a pain that is radiating in her abdominal area.  Is this a common thing after the surgery and is this something she will possibly have to live with for the rest of her life?  I know that she is grateful that the growth was completely removed but she needs to know what to expect from this surgery.
