what i had was an ulcer like sore on my gum line in the roof of my mouth it was sore.  But the only way I can be is blunt honey don't put going to the dr. off.  If it is a problem they can fix it.  If its not its worth the piece of mind.  Remember if it is a problem its not going away by itself. Good luck.
