Hello. I had my TT on May 6th. I had Hurthle Cell in one of the 4 nodules. They were all large ranging from 1.5cm to 3.5cm. They all grew over 1 cm in less than 11 months. Doctor said it must come out.
Surgery was very easy! I have a 2.5-3cm incision. My thyroid was very large. Surgeon said a normal thyroid weighs 15grams my was 45 grams. I met with 2 different surgeons. I wanted to have the best. I am in the Seattle area. I went with the one with the lowest complication rate. I am so glad I did. I did not even have a hoarse voice. I did have a small sore throat for about 2 days. No complications. I did not even take tylenol after surgery.I am taking Synthroid 150. I guess I was lucky and a great surgeon! I also had a drain tube, it came out the next am. The incision is healing great....well it itches.
We got back the path it said begnin, but my endo sent it off to another lab just to be sure because of the Hurthle Cell.
