Just an update! Yesterday pete passed the swallow study! So friday clear liquids...and serious chat regarding discharge. We like to avoid having him in hospital especially over a long holiday weekend.
More importantly, the pathology reports confirmed clean margins and No nodes involved!
There were a few 'bumps' post surgery...a clot that we jumped on RIGHT away (I insisted on a doppler study of his right arm...although a nurse kept insisting that the swelling was 'positional' from the surgery...I said then it is a simple matter to do a study to rule out a clot...and there it was!)
He also had some issues with fluid overload, but that appears to have resolved.
I am 'cautiously optomistic' as we begin this next phase of the journey...and want to thank you all for good thoughts and prayers.
