I'm so grateful your primary care physician has stepped in and is finding you a different doctor. Did you mean you have actual cancer? Or was it just dysplasia? If you had actual cancer and your doctor said LEEP would take care of the problem, then he needs to be reported to the medical board. The appropriate action would have been to send you to a GYN/oncologist for further diagnosis. What I am curious to know is this.
1. Did he ever show you any of the lab reports?
2. Did he ever have a thorough discussion about what you had, where it was located, if it was in the endocervical canal, and if the endocervical glands were involved?
3. Did he ever discuss the risks and benefits of all your treatment options before making a recommendation, which he is required to do?
4. When he did the first LEEP, did he tell you if you had positive or clear margins? If you had positive margins, did he explain what that meant?
5. How soon after the first LEEP did he do that second LEEP?
I am so sorry you had a doctor whose actions seem very questionable. Your body is too important, and good healthcare is a right! In the meantime, have your primary care physician show you all of the lab reports you currently have. That will be the first step in taking charge of your condition and how to address it. Make sure the new doctor always shows you the lab reports and gives that thorough discussion. Between the help of your primary care physician and the new GYN, I hope they are able to help you with the pelvic pain. I feel badly you have been suffering so!
