Does your mom have a skin rash? My husband does and was spitting up a good amount of blood. Took him to the ER and found he had sores in his nose that may be from Tarceva as his rash was bad. The sores in the nose were bleeding down his throat which made him cough up blood. They told him to use saline nasal spray everyday and if his nose bled to use Afrin nasal spray to stop bleeding. Hope this helps. Have your mom's nose looked at.
