My mom has brain mets and it's possible the scan will show that.  Be ready for it.  My mom had whole brain radiation and she is forgetful and can't remember conversations, even when she's talking.  She will stop mid sentence because the words are "just gone".  She smoked for a good part of her life.  She stopped 20 years ago and she took Tarceva.  Ask her doctors if that's a possibility.  Don't take no for an answer from her doctors.
